Veľké Úľany is located in southwestern Slovakia on the Danubian Lowland between the Little Danube and Čierna Voda, near the towns of Senec and Galanta on the state road between Bratislava and Nitra. The most important monument of the village is the Calvary, on a hill near the square, with an atrium with a pear-shaped floor plan. Furthermore, in the village there is a Renaissance Roman Catholic Church of St. Michal archangel, an evangelical church, which was rebuilt from the farm building of Pálffy Majer and Klaus at the instigation of Slovak immigrants, mainly from the Lower Lands
