Already in the time of Bishop Dr. Augustine Fischer-Colbrie considered the return of the former Košice church and monastery to the Franciscans so that they could once again participate in the spiritual care of a growing number of Catholic believers through pastoral care. The obstacle to this idea was the lack of the necessary material resources for the construction of more suitable premises for the theological seminary of the Košice diocese, established in the original Franciscan monastery.

Seeing the need to build new churches on the outskirts of the growing city, the bishop bought the land to build a new church in honor of the Blessed Virgin, such as Regine Pacis, ie. The queen of peace. His intention was thwarted by his death in 1925. At that time, grateful believers seized things and launched a collection to build the church of Regina Pacis in memory of this bishop. The result of perseverance and dedication was the decision of cat. community in 1938 to build a church in the most suitable place, in the southern territory of Košice. There, the city council generously donated a plot of land 100 × 40 m for this purpose, next to the social house.
