After entering the building, the interiors keep visitors in a festive mood with their spectacular beauty. The separate layout of the building is simple, efficient and ingenious. The dominant interest of the architect Lang in the interior of the building stimulated the creation of a number of rare spaces, in which the individual effects of architectural forms and decorations play out the atmosphere, the aim of which is to control visitors with the fairytale atmosphere of the theater. The harmony of the interior culminates in the viewpoint hall. It is 16 meters high and with the optimal ratio of the layout of balconies and lodges above the viewpoint and their fine shaping, it evokes poetry of shapes and a slight spatial dizziness. The hall ends with a folded suspended rabbi ceiling sloping towards the stage. The portal for the stage opening is a richly decorated architectural focus, where a world of fantasy and illusion is to be opened to the real world spectator. The beauty of the space is complemented by the intimacy of the lodge and elements of valuable painting and sculptural decoration. The figures of theatrical muses, ancient gods, historical and theatrical scenes, all form a repertoire of decorations. They color the spaces of the theater in radiant tones and take the viewer into the world of art, fairy tales or dreams. The color of the stucco, richly toned in shades of pastel colors, enhances the rich gilding. The harmonious color matching is complemented by ruby velvet upholstery and carpets. The whole after lighting the chandelier gives the impression of a jewel.
The very course of construction of the building under the constant supervision of the inhabitants of Košice, progressed with admirable speed. In less than two years, the city prepared for 28 September 1899 a grand opening ceremony with the participation of not only government celebrities, but literally the cultural elite of the state. And those who, with their dedication, won the theater and bore the whole burden of construction, ie the general audience of the city of Košice, filled the Main Street until late at night. Happy and moved, they lovingly admired the building of extraordinary beauty, with which they will experience a new stage in history.
