The narrow but long house ends with a barn with a cart and agricultural machinery, outside under the shelter there is also a threshing machine, a mower and other equipment that belonged to the common equipment of a farmer in the village. When looking at the exhibits, the older ones mention, the young people tend to ask because they do not know many of the exhibited objects at all.
They bought the house and saved it
The village of Vlčkovce bought one of the oldest houses in the village about two years ago, and has been working to save it ever since. It was in a desolate state, with disturbed statics and roof structure. According to the mayor of Dobrovodský, most of the work was financed from the general budget, partly from the Ministry of Finance and from donors who liked the idea of establishing a municipal museum.
During the first weekend after the opening, about a thousand inhabitants of the village, but also natives from various parts of Slovakia, came to see the past of Farkašín, later Vlčkoviec. Mayor Ivan Dobrovodský wants to make the Country House accessible especially to children from schools in the area, because such a collection of museum pieces, which was managed to be collected in Vlčkovce near Trnava, is not exhibited anywhere in the surrounding villages.
The village of Vlčkovce is located only a few kilometers from Trnava, next to the R1 expressway. It was known as Farkašín for centuries, until in 1948 it was named Vlčkovce.
