Bishop Ambróz Lazík was born in Trstín, in 1922 he was ordained a Roman Catholic priest, he served a primitive mass in Hájička in his native village. From 1942 he was a parish priest from Trnava. After the death of Bishop Jantausch in 1947, he took over the leadership of the Trnava Apostolic Administration. He became a bishop in 1949, but the rest of his life was marked by the harsh interference of the communist regime in church administration. In 1968 he took over the leadership of the Association of St. Adalbert. Ambróz Lazík died in Trnava, a month after his death his remains were transported and buried in Trstín.
A bronze memorial plaque at his birthplace was unveiled to him in 1997. It was donated by the natives, the Archbishop's Office in Trnava and the SSV. On the board is the inscription Ave Crux, which A. Lazík chose as his episcopal motto.
