The construction of the cathedral 1629 - 1637. The main altar is an early Baroque gem made in the years 1637 - 1640. The magnificent wooden columnar architecture is 20.3 m high and 14.8 m wide. The main altar is four storeys high. Under the church is a crypt, which served as a burial place for the Esterházi family and other leading nobles of Hungary and, of course, for the deceased members of the Jesuit order.
