The inhabitants subsisted mainly on agriculture, carpentry and wheelwrighting, women on embroidery. Many people went to seasonal work abroad (Austria). In the First World War, 15 citizens died, during the expedition of Hungarian gendarmes to the village in November 1918, six men and one woman. The oldest historical monument of the village is the Roman Catholic Church of St. Archangel Michael - r. 1157. It belongs to the rare historical Romanesque monuments and is included in the list of architectural monuments. Services are held there daily. With the right integration, the village of Modrová is one of the southernmost municipalities in the Nové Mesto nad Váhom district, but the most advantageous connection is to the town of Piešťany. At present, the village has built a solid structure of services to citizens: a health center with an ambulance, kindergarten, post office, cultural center, library, a shop with various goods, groceries, hospitality, three car repair shops, leather goods production. In the recreational area Modrová - Lazy there is a home for the elderly. The mission of the Senior Modrová home is to provide a safe, dignified and satisfied environment for citizens who need the regular help of another natural person. We support an active attitude to life, which is based on an individual approach to clients. At present, the village has 511 inhabitants.
