The agricultural character of the village was also reflected in the general symbols. Today, just over 450 inhabitants live here. The sacral dominant of Bačkovík is the Evangelical Church. It was built in 1837 in the Classicist style. There is also a chapel of the Catholic Church. Bačkovík is a branch of the Greek Catholic parish in Košice Klečenov and the Roman Catholic parish in Kecerovce. A first-grade primary school and a kindergarten were established in the village. The village manages a local library. The development of sports activities is aided by the establishment of a sports field. One of the important environmental projects of the village is the construction of a wastewater treatment plant. There is a segregated Roma settlement near the village. Among others, the Evangelical Church is trying to raise the living standards of its inhabitants. There are several associations in the village, among which the Voluntary Fire Brigade has the richest history.
