From the 16th century, the village belonged to the castle estate Červený kameň. After the Turkish invasions, Croatian colonists settled here. However, they left and the village was left without settlement. In 1590, thanks to the work of Count Mikuláš Pálffy, it was repopulated. The village was known from the beginning for its wines, said to be the best in the Červenokamen estate. In addition to viticulture, the inhabitants were also involved in burning lime, charcoal and producing chips (wooden wheels).
In the village there is a statue of St. Ján Nepomucký from the end of the 18th century, a cross at the beginning of the village from 1894 and a Roman Catholic church from 1907, which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary of the Rosary.
At present, the village has about 850 inhabitants. The Christian singing group CREDO, the Folklore group LIPKA, the Guild of Famous Dubovans operate here. The tradition of the well-known Trakovice embroidery continues. Popular sports activities include football and traditional cycling.
In the beautiful surroundings of the Little Carpathians, cottages and recreational facilities offer their services in the cadastre of the village - Chata Fúgelka, Chata Kukla, Rekreačné zariadenie Hydrostav and Chata Rilla.
The village is part of the Malokarpatska wine route and thus builds on the winemaking legacy of the past - traditionally good Dubov wines.
