There is no serious evidence of the beginnings of viticulture in our village. It is assumed that the vineyards in Zelenec existed a long time ago, as evidenced by the naming of a certain part of the land "Vinohrady" compared to today's Agricultural Cooperative.
The greatest expansion of viticulture was achieved in 1970, when the United Farmers' Cooperative had an area of 20 hectares and 28 acres of vineyards. The cooperative directly managed 9 ha and 91 acres, the rest - 10 ha and 57 acres were used by members of the cooperative such as: Jozef Marko Sr., Ladislav Jurišič, Ondrej and Cyprián Bednárik, Jozef Tíbenský, Ján Bílik and others. It is worth noting that most of the grape harvest was processed among private winegrowers for wine that had been consumed in the grower's household. Excess wine was bottled in domestic vases.
In order to preserve cultural and social values in the cultivation and production of wine in our village, a group of enthusiasts founded in 2001 the Association of Winemakers and Vineyards Zeleneč with its seat on the main street no. 40. The Preparatory Committee consisted of Ing. Dusan Belko, Igor Blaho, Ivan Capicik.
