The village with more than 500 inhabitants has only a short history, as it was created by merging two separate municipalities after the referendum in 1991. Managing two parts of the village 700 meters apart is not easy, but previous experience confirms that it is possible. Among the most important cultural monuments of the village is the Church of St. Michal, archangel in Lančár, built on the site of a prehistoric fortified settlement. The church complex is surrounded by a stone wall with shooting ranges from the 17th century and a built-in tower - a bell tower. Slovak films were filmed at the church, Na kaňu klopajú, Kuruci do zbrane !, I judge you with love and others. There is a simple chapel in the area of the cemetery in Kočín, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes. The folklore group Podhoranka, which has been presenting its program for more than 35 years, operates in the village. In 2011, the Trnava Regional Authority received a significant award for its lasting contribution in the field of culture. To this day, certain general events are also made more pleasant by the music group Borovienka, which was founded in Lančár.
